The 27-hole Machrihanish Golf Club (1876) is situated on the western side of the Kintyre Peninsula by the small village of Machrihanish. The 18-hole championship course is a classical Scottish Links Course, which was laid out in 1879 by Old Tom Morris himself. It runs through majestic dunes and offers great views across to the islands of Islay, Jura and Gigha. Be prepared for the ups and downs of the fairways and challenging undulating greens. Even the competent golfer will find out, that the layout is not just a predictable nine out, and nine back.
The 9 hole Pans Course is often favoured by members for a leisurely 9 holes. The smaller greens and shorter fairways provide an equal but different test of golfing skills.
