The 60 hole Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus in the Scottish Heartlands offers three fantastic golf courses, all of which are rated in the top 50 Links courses in the UK and Ireland.
The 18-hole Championship Course has hosted seven Open Championships, one Ladies Open and one Seniors Open and has recently been ranked at no 1 on the Rolex Top 1000 courses in the world. It is one of the three courses participating in the annual Dunhill Links including Kingsbarns and the Old Course in St Andrews as well. The Open Championship will return to this course in 2018.
The 18-hole The Burnside is often overshadowed by the Championship Coure but it oozes character and from the back tees is a splendid test of golf. It was here in 1953 where the great Ben Hogan shot 70 to help him qualify for the Open Championship which he subsequently won.
The 18-hole The Buddon (opened 1979) is the newest course. It was originally designed by Peter Alliss and the late Dave Thomas. Most recent the course has undergone a few changes bringing the course up to a very testing par 68.
The 6 hole The Nestie (opened 2014) is the new junior course situated on the old first fairway of the Buddon Links. The Nestie is free for all to play, both members and non-members alike.
