The 36-holes of San Roque Club (1990) lie at the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, where the mountains meet the sea. The courses were designed by the famous architect Dave Thomas with bunkers redesigned by Severiano Ballesteros . The amazing Old Course (par 72) is the pride of the club and rated amongst the finest in Europe. The parkland style course is characterized by hilly fairways, undulated greens and natural water hazards. From 1993 to 2008 it was home of the Qualifiying School of the European PGA Tour.
The New Course, opened in 2005, is a Perry Dye design. It is laid out on similar beautiful terrain with many scenic views. Typical Dye style meens large and steep bunkers as well as spacious greens..
The San Roque Club offers also all the facilities that can be expected of the finest and most exclusive meeting place on the Costa del Sol. Besides of the two contrasting golf courses, four very different restaurants serve up a stunning array of high-class cuisine, from Japanese to tapas. The equestrian centre’s top class facilities appeal to everyone from novices to experts, and if a more relaxing visit appeals, the terraces, the heated pool or beauty and therapeutic treatments are among the facilities members enjoy, while the meeting and conference rooms make this a perfect place to get down to business in a calming environment.
