The 18-hole Golf Club Varese (1897/1934) is located in an ancient convent, built in the 12th century. The Benedictine Sisters used to live here up to the 15th century. The golf course runs through gently undulating ground with great views of the lake Maggiore, lake Vares, lake Monate and the Mount Rosa. The course is not very long but it runs through a beautiful landscape.
The main characteristic of the golf course of Golf Club Varese is that you will seldom play a shot with the ball on level ground. Moreover, as there are dog-legs, you must know how to draw and fade the ball from the tees and in some cases you must forget your drive, not to take risks and place the ball in the widest part of the fairway using an iron or a 3-wood.
Enjoy tradition, the great scenery and the chance of low scores.
