The 18-hole Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club was founded in January 1907 and celebrated 100 years of history in 2007. It is the 2nd oldest Golf Club in Italy after Golf Club Acquasanta in Rome. The golf course was redesigned by Architect John Harris in 1965. It combines old-world values with a heritage of golfing culture. The original British tradition still prevails both on the course due to its natural, numerous and sometimes difficult hazards and in the Club House with the historical Library, which is the pride of the Club.
The Menaggio golf course is a challenging mountain course characterised by holes running up and down according to the natural terrain offering splendid views of Lake Como and the landscape. While short by modern standards it requires precision and careful thought because of the narrow fairways and the steep inclines. To play a low score golfers need to be very accurate straight down the fairways.
