The 18-holes Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course (1966) was designed by the great Sir Henry Cotton (British Open Champion). The course stands as a shining example to golfing architecture and one man's passion for the great game of golf. It hosted the Portuguese Open for ten times. The course is as challenging as it is satisfying. Because of the flatness the designer introduced strategically placed water hazards and bunkers to catch the unwary long hitter. The golfer has to be prepared for raised greens.
